Bridges to Light

Illuminating Paths to God's Infinite Grace and Light

This Is Your Captain Speaking

Earlier tonight, just as I was getting ready to post the blog that had been on my heart all day, my mom came over. And in that moment, I told her something that I had also just told God: “I’m not going to keep telling people this stuff anymore, because I look like a crazy person, and nobody’s listening anyway.”

But after she left, I sat down to write. I had just told her that I felt that judgment is already on the people, that I’ve tried to tell them, and I can’t keep trying if no one’s willing to listen. And almost immediately after that moment, He responded. It was like He had been sitting there, listening the whole time, waiting for the pause so He could speak. And God gave me these words:

“Deep dive”.”  “Municipality.”  “This is your captain speaking.”

And then He led me to Ezekiel 3:7 — “But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.”

That hit me so hard. He wasn’t just speaking to Ezekiel… He was speaking to me. He was reminding me: they’re not rejecting you—they’re rejecting Me.

Then He brought me to Ezekiel 5:1–3, where God instructs Ezekiel to shave his head and beard with a sharp sword, and divide the hair into thirds. One part is burned, one part struck with the sword, and the other scattered to the wind—with a few strands tucked into his garment.

It felt like a picture of what’s happening right now. A razor of judgment. A dividing. A separating. But also… a protecting. The ones He tucks away, those few strands—maybe they’re the ones who are listening. Maybe that’s us.

And the words He gave me—Deep dive and Municipality—they stirred something in me. Maybe He’s saying, it’s time to go deeper. Not surface-level talk, but truth that cuts through. Speak to the heart of the community, the structure, the people. Don’t hold back. This is a warning. This is a message.  This is your Captain speaking.

I will not ignore Him.  From now on, I’m going to keep writing these down—every night if I have to. If He’s speaking, I’m going to share it, even if it makes me look crazy. Because the truth is, I’d rather look crazy for God than stay quiet while the world sleeps through His voice.

2 Chronicles 13:12 – “And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

Ezekiel 3:7“But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.”

Ezekiel 5:1–3“Now, son of man, take a sharp sword and use it as a barber’s razor to shave your head and your beard. Then take a set of scales and divide up the hair. When the days of your siege come to an end, burn a third of the hair inside the city. Take a third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And scatter a third to the wind. For I will pursue them with drawn sword. But take a few hairs and tuck them away in the folds of your garment.”
